Andrew Friedson is the Montgomery County council president and has been on the council since December 2018. He’s been a leader in the council on issues such as addressing hate crimes, climate protection, and transit and pedestrian safety. He represents the district that includes Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Potomac.
Delegate Lily Qi was elected in 2018 when she became the first Chinese immigrant legislator in Maryland. A Shanghai native, Delegate Qi is the Deputy Majority Whip. Before her elective office, she had a career in DC economic development and higher education. Delegate Qi is also a speaker and trainer on immigrant integration and government cultural competency.
